2 dead in vehicular mishaps

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died in separate vehicular accidents in Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan over the weekend.

Crisanto Fuerte, 37, was driving his motorcycle in Barangay Balacad, Laoag City when he collided with a Hyundai Starex Van driven by John Patrick Resquir, 35, at around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Fuerte was declared dead on arrival at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in nearby Batac City.

Resquir surrendered to responding police officers.

Meanwhile, in Pangasinan, Eleonor Langcao, 63, was declared dead on arrival at the Pozorrubio Community Hospital after she was hit by a Ford Ranger in Barangay Palacpalac on Friday night.

Driver Rufino Balderas, 55, surrendered to members of the Sison police station after the incident.

Police said they would file charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide against Balderas.
