Mechanic shot dead

BINALONAN, Philippines — A 33-year-old mechanic was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Poblacion here on Saturday night.

Leroy Samson, 33, was declared dead on arrival at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta City due to several gunshot wounds in the body.

Reports said the victim along with his brother and two friends were having a drinking session in front of a house in the village when a motorcycle with two men on board pulled over.

Witnesses told probers that one of the men approached the group and shot Samson several times.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.

Police said Samson was on probation for frustrated homicide.

Six bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
