2 Indian kidnap suspects slain by cops
MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected kidnappers were killed in an alleged encounter with operatives of the Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) in Imus, Cavite yesterday.
Indians Kumar Pardeep, 33, and Honey Singh, tried to escape and shot it out with policemen following an entrapment in Barangay Annabu 1G at around 3 a.m., Senior Superintendent Glenn Dumlao, PNP-AKG head, said.
Dumlao said two guns, two cell phones and a black bag containing an undetermined amount of money were recovered from the fatalities.
Pardeep and Singh allegedly seized their fellow Indian Lalit Kumar from his house in Barangay Salawag on Sept. 3.
“The kidnappers initially demanded P20 million...which was reduced to P680,000,” Dumlao said.
However, police learned that Kumar was killed on Wednesday and his body was dumped in Barangay Navarro, General Trias.
Dumlao said pursuit operations for three Filipino cohorts of the fatalities are underway.
