6 slain in gun attacks
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines — Six persons were killed and two others wounded in gun attacks in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal on Monday.
Jeromino Aquino and a man who has yet to be identified were shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Paradahan 1, Tanza and Manggahan, General Trias, Cavite, respectively.
Tricycle driver Roman Fresnido was shot in Barangay Pooc, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
In Batangas, an unidentified man was in a passenger jeepney when he was shot in Barangay Banay-Banay, Lipa, Batangas at around 1:50 p.m. Another passenger was hit by a stray bullet and taken to the Metro San Jose Hospital for treatment.
Mark Anthony Odato and Rafael Aquino were shot in Sitio Maagay, Barangay Inarawan, Antipolo, Rizal at around 8:40 p.m.
Odato died at the scene while Aquino was pronounced dead on arrival at the Amang Rodriquez Hospital.
Investigations into the gun attacks are underway.
