Bag with guns, ammo seized

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Soldiers manning a checkpoint seized a bag containing firearms and ammunition from a passenger bus in Barangay Lasang in this city yesterday.

Police said seven .45-caliber pistols, an Ingram machine gun and silencer as well as ammunition were found in the bag placed at the compartment of a Bachelor bus that arrived from Leyte.

Traffic along the Davao-Agusan Highway was snarled for a few hours as bomb experts checked the contents of the bag.

The passengers of the bus were brought to the Bunawan police station for questioning.
