43 OFWs to be hired in C. Luzon schools

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – Another group of returning overseas Filipino workers will be hired as teachers in public schools near their residences in Central Luzon.

At least 25 of the OFWs will be assigned in elementary schools and 18 in junior high schools.

The program, dubbed Sa ‘Pinas Ikaw ang Mam at Sir or SPIMS is an undertaking of the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Professional Regulations Commission.Launched in 2014, the program covers OFWs who passed the licensure examination for teachers.
