Cop nabbed for nurse's slay in Batangas

BATANGAS, Philippines — A rookie cop was arrested after being identified as the suspect in the killing of a municipal nurse in Agoncillo town Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Senior Superintendent Randy Peralta, Batangas police director identified the suspect as Police Officer 1 Justin Feliciano Colona, assigned at 3rd Maneuver Platoon, in Quezon province.
Colona was positively identified by an eye witness in the shooting of Darrel Irvin Cabello De Claro, 28, municipal nurse and resident of Poblacion, Agoncillo, Batangas.
Report said De Claro was onboard a motorcycle and heading towards the basketball court at Barangay Poblacion when Colona approached from behind and allegedly shot the male nurse around 5:45 p.m.
Victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the head and different parts of his body that caused his instantaneous death.
Suspect fled after the incident but was arrested in a hot pursuit operation.
Probers are eyeing love angle as the possible motive of the killing since several death treats of text messages from the victim's cellphone was retrieved.
Investigators said De Claro's present girlfriend is the former girlfriend of Colona. The cop allegedly was too obsessed in winning her back that resulted into a tragedy.
Colona is facing criminal charges and presently detained at Agoncillo police station
