Farmer held for beating up wife

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines – A farmer was accused of beating up his wife in Barangay Sta. Maria, Lal-lo, Cagayan on Monday.

Leonardo Enciso, 48, initially beat up his wife in front of his drinking buddies after accusing her of texting her lover, according to their neighbors.

Witnesses said Enciso also dragged his wife until she was stripped naked.

Enciso faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.
