Parojinog siblings negative for drug use
MANILA, Philippines - Detained Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Jr. have tested negative for drug use.
“Tests conducted on the urine samples…have negative results for methamphetamine and THC-Metabolites, both dangerous drugs,” Chief Superintendent Aurelio Trampe, crime laboratory director, told a briefing yesterday.
Trampe said 11 other people, who were arrested in simultaneous raids on the houses of the Parojinogs on July 30, also tested negative for drug use.
The siblings, who were indicted for illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms, are being held at the Camp Crame custodial center.
Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., his wife Susan, brother Octavio, sister Mona and 11 other persons were killed in the raids.
As this developed, the new head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Eastern Visayas has assumed his post.
Gil Pabilona turned over the post to Wardly Getalla, former PDEA chief in the dissolved Negros Island Region, in ceremonies held yesterday.
Pabilona will reportedly be transferred to the main office of PDEA.
