Woman files trespassing charges vs 5 ‘fake cops’

Jun Elias - The Philippine Star

TUBAO, La Union, Philippines – Five men posing as police officers barged into a house in Barangay Llorin here on Friday to supposedly look for two fugitives.

Josefina Esguerra filed a complaint of trespassing against the suspects, who allegedly introduced themselves as members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Esguerra told investigators that one of the suspects introduced himself as Senior Police Officer 4 Gacayan.

She said the suspects told her that they were looking for two fugitives who were hiding at her house.

The five failed to present an arrest or search warrant when she asked for it.

The suspects allegedly took away a 9mm pistol, a shotgun, ammunition and a goat.
