Magnitude 4.8 quake jolts Caraga, Misamis
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.8 earthquake shook parts of Mindanao before noon yesterday, but did not cause damage or injuries, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor struck at around 11:09 a.m. Its epicenter was traced some 37 kilometers northwest of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4, which is classified as moderately strong, in Tandag City. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Butuan and Intensity 2 in the cities of Bislig, Surigao and Gingoog City as well as in La Paz, Agusan del Sur.
The tremor was also felt at Intensity 1 in Balingasag, Lagonglong and Jasaan in Misamis Oriental.
