2 die in Iloilo fires

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – Two persons have died in fires in Iloilo.

A house helper identified only as Ivy Joy was trapped in the house of her employer in Barangay Hibao-an, Pavia  before 2 a.m. yesterday. The victim was said to be sleeping in the room where the fire started.

Meanwhile, a fire in Badiangan town allegedly started when Benedicto Mamon, 70, who was reportedly suffering from mental illness, torched his clothes at his house in Barangay Poblacion. Mamon died at the scene.

Investigations are underway.
