Boat capsizes off Surigao; 2 kids drown

SURIGAO CITY , Philippines  – Two children drowned when a motorboat capsized off Barangay Day-asan in Surigao City on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Hiendrich Kym Acedera, 7, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion in Sison town, and Ivelrose Padel, 6, of Barangay Lipata in this city.

Initial investigation showed the boat capsized when a passenger, who was reportedly drunk, stepped on the outrigger.
