Drug suspect slain, 3 arrested

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A drug suspect was killed while three others were arrested in separate police operations in Tarlac on Saturday. 

Reports said Omar Ugadan was killed in an alleged shootout in Barangay Tibag, Tarlac City.

Probers said Ugadan surrendered to authorities during the conduct of Oplan Tokhang in their village last year.

The suspect reportedly tried to escape and traded shots with police officers.

Meanwhile, police arrested Jayson Lansang, 37, of Tondo, Manila, and his alleged cohort Chiaro Crisanto Catu, 26, during a sting in Gerona town.

On the same day, police arrested Santy Samson, 30, after he allegedly sold an undetermined amount of shabu to undercover agents in Barangay San Antonio, Tarlac City.

Cop axed over drug suspect’s escape

A police officer was relieved from his post after a drug suspect escaped under his watch in General Trias, Cavite on Saturday.

The relief of Police Officer 1 John Acer Arcusa stemmed from the escape of Virgilio Arca, 50.

The suspect, who was arrested on Thursday, complained of difficulty in breathing, prompting authorities to rush him to a hospital.

Arcusa reportedly handcuffed Arca to his bed and left him to take his dinner.
