Cop arrested for murder

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines – A police officer who allegedly shot dead two men during a drinking session last month was arrested yesterday. 

Police Officer 1 Ricardo Rillo, 44, a resident of Barangay Santiago Sur  in this city, was collared based on warrants issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 26 Judge Caroline Rojas-Jaucian for two counts of murder and attempted murder. 

Rillo reportedly shot Willie Fernando, 48, and Joseph Balanag, both residents of Barangay Santiago Sur after a heated argument.  Fernando’s younger brother Christian, 23, was wounded and taken to a hospital for treatment.
