70 Central Luzon cops deployed to Mindanao
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – At least 70 policemen in Central Luzon have been sent to Mindanao.
A send-off ceremony was held yesterday for the policemen, who will be deployed to Cagayan de Oro City, at the parade grounds of the regional police office.
Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino, Central Luzon police director, said the deployment is in line with a continuing program of the Philippine National Police to send its personnel to conflict areas, help address threats to national security and assist in counterinsurgency operations.
Aquino said the policemen would remain in Mindanao until the situation in Marawi City normalizes.
