Quake rocks Ilocos

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-4.7 earthquake shook parts of the Ilocos region before dawn yesterday, state seismologists said.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake occurred at 4:37 a.m. and its epicenter was located 51 kilometers southwest of Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur.

The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Sinait and Intensity 2 in Vigan City, both in Ilocos Sur, and Intensity 1 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
