MANILA, Philippines - Nine more drug suspects were killed in police operations in Luzon in the past two days.

Richard Galon, 37, an alias Botong and an alias Dodo reportedly drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents during a sting at a government housing project in Barangay Muzon, San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan on Friday.

Construction worker Reynaldo Reyes, 36, fired at anti-drug operatives in Purok 6, Barangay Pulong Bayabas in San Rafael also in Bulacan yesterday.

In Norzagaray, two men known only by their aliases of Tan and Jay refused to pull over at a checkpoint and fired at policemen in Barangay Tigbe on Friday. 

A caliber .38 revolver, a pen gun with ammunition, a motorcycle and a sachet of shabu were reportedly recovered from the fatalities.

Barangay councilman Rodel Reyes, 59, and Ruel Girao, 38, allegedly shot policemen serving a search warrant at their residence in Barangay San Antonio 1, Noveleta, Cavite and San Pedro 1, Malvar, Batangas, respectively, also on Friday.

Police said Girao, who was on the drug watchlist of Malvar, and Reyes, a known drug personality in his barangay, yielded sachets of shabu, guns and drug paraphernalia.

In Nueva Ecija, retired Army colonel Edito Nisnisan, 62, also reportedly pulled out a gun and shot police operatives during a raid on his house in Barangay San Francisco, San Antonio.

Police said a caliber. 38 revolver, a fragmentation grenade and sachets of shabu were among those recovered from the fatality.

Meanwhile, at least three kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P60 million were seized in Barangay Sinunuc in Zamboanga City yesterday.

Superintendent Nonito Asdai, Station 6 commander, said Almujir Sabtal, 29, alias Ogie, a native of Sulu who was arrested in a sting at a hotel in the city, pointed to Sakur Jimo-Alijam, 26, and his wife Carmin Maluddin, 36, as his supplier. The couple were nabbed in a follow-up operation at a subdivision also in Barangay Sinunuc.

Five other suspected drug pushers were arrested in Bacoor, Cavite and one each in Dagupan and Calasiao in Pangasinan; Solano, Nueva Vizcaya and Iguig, Cagayan on Friday. – Ric Sapnu, Ramon Efren Lazaro, Raymund Catindig, Cesar Ramirez, Roel Pareño, Emmanuel Tupas
