Girl, 7, found dead

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A seven-year-old girl believed to be a victim of rape was found dead in an abandoned restroom at a public market in Sara, Iloilo on Wednesday.

Two men found the body of the victim atop a sink at around 1 a.m.

Chief Inspector Ronnie Brillo, Sara police chief, said the girl had no underwear and her shirt was rolled up.

Police arrested Jude Michael Machinal, 18, and Jay-R Posadas, 19, who were reportedly seen with the victim on Tuesday night.

“If she was indeed sexually molested, we could file a case against the suspects for rape with homicide. If not, they would be charged with murder or homicide in relation to the Anti-Child Abuse Law,” said Brillo.
