Electric coop employee shot dead in Batangas

BATANGAS, Philippines - A 47-year-old employee of Batangas Electric Cooperative 2 (BATELEC) was killed in an ambush at the boundaries of Bauan and Alitagtag townsThursday morning, police said.
Police identified the victim as Carlito Marasigan Landicho, lineman in BATELEC Alitagtag Unit Office and a resident of Barangay Baguilawa, Bauan, Batangas.
According to report, Landicho was on his way to work aboard his motorcycle when the riding-in-tandem tailed and shot him upon reaching Barangay Muzon 2 Alitagtag, a few meters away from Bauan boundary around 7:40 a.m.
Landicho was rushed to Bauan Doctors Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival at the emergency room due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Police have yet to determine the motive of the killing while the Oplan Kalasag of the Philippine National Police was activated to pursue the assailants who escaped after the shooting.
