Magnitude 4.5 quake jolts Southern Tagalog
MANILA, Philippines - An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 rocked parts of Southern Tagalog yesterday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the tremor, which occurred at about 9:18 a.m., was located three kilometers northwest of Los Baños, Laguna.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4, which is considered moderately strong, in Los Baños and Alaminos, Laguna as well as in Malvar and Tanauan City in Batangas. It was also felt at Intensity 3 in Lipa, San Rafael and Santo Tomas, Batangas and Intensity 2 in Cuenca and Tagaytay City.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks were expected from the quake.
