Boat capsizes off Romblon; 5 dead

MANILA, Philippines - Five people died when a motorized boat capsized off Romblon yesterday.  

The victims had not been identified as of 4 p.m. yesterday, said Cmdr. Armand Balilo, Philippine Coast Guard spokesman. 

Initial reports show that Alad Express 2 with 50 passengers and six crewmembers was hit by a whirlwind near Barangay Agbudia before 1 p.m.  

At least 44 passengers were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.
