3 motorbike riders dead in Oriental Mindoro mishap

ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines — Three motorcycle riding men died when they collided with a passenger bus in Socorro town Thursday evening, police said.

Police Regional Office 4B-MIMAROPA Public Information Officer Superintendent Imelda Tolentino identified the fatalities as Randy Reyes, driver of the motorcycle, backriders Norman Mendoza and Jaymar Asi.
 
According to report, the victims were travelling along the Strong Republic Nautical Highway in Barangay Leuteboro 2 in Socorro town when it collided head-on with an oncoming RORO Bus driven by Larry Lacito around 10:45 pm.
 
Tolentino said the riders overtake from the vehicle in front and slammed in the coming bus at the opposite lane.
 
The three, who were not wearing helmets, died on the spot.
 
Meanwhile, no bus passenger were hurt in the.accident while the bus driver was detained at the police station to face appropriate charges.
