Fire hits mall in Taguig City

MANILA, Philippines — A mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City caught fire on Wednesday morning.

According to Metro's Market! Market! management, the fire incident occurred at around 10:39 a.m. Among the immediate responders where the Bureau of Fire and Market! Market! Building Administration. 

As of 11:04 a.m., firefighting volunteer Txt Fire Philippines said Metro’s Market! Market! fire reached first alarm. 

In a separate Twitter update from non-profit civic organization Fire Emergency Paramedic assistance Group, the blaze involved Japanese food chain, Tokyo Tokyo. It added that the fire was under control around 11:30 p.m.

However, the Market! Market! Management said the cause of fire is still under investigation.

Netizens who are in the area said mall-goers were forcibly evacuated. The management assured that its employees and shoppers were safe from the fire incident.

The authorities have yet to release a statement regarding the origin, extent and damage of the fire.
