2 dead in drinking spree

SAN FERNANDO, La Union, Philippines – A police officer was arrested for allegedly killing two men in this city on Wednesday. 

Willie Fernando, 48, and Joseph Balanag died at the scene. Fernando’s brother Christian, 23, was wounded and brought to the Ilocos Training Regional Medical Center for treatment.  

Initial investigation showed Police Officer 1 Ricardo Rillo had a heated argument with the victims during a drinking spree in Barangay Santiago Sur at around 6 p.m.

Rillo reportedly went home, but returned and shot the victims at around 8:45 p.m.
