14 execs in hot water for skipping drug test
CEBU, Philippines - Fourteen department heads of Mandaue City are now being questioned for failing to undergo yesterday’s drug test.
On the other hand, the surprise drug test conducted on 26 department heads and 18 barangay captains yielded negative results, according city health officer Edna Seno.
City administrator Danilo Almendras said the 14 department heads will have a lot of explaining to do for their failure to undergo the drug test.
"There was a memorandum issued last week to all department heads and other unit heads under the Office of the Mayor, stating that there will be an important meeting Monday. It was stated also in the memorandum that no representative is allowed," Almendras said.
Almendras said these department heads would still be subjected to a surprise drug test.
So far, three of them explained their absence because of prior commitments.
The city government has been supporting the intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte through its surprise drug tests, Almendras said. (FREEMAN)
