Bilibid drug courier nabbed in Taguig sting
MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested yesterday a suspected courier for drug rings operating at the New Bilibid Prison.
Gladys Ortega, 43, of West Rembo, Makati City, was apprehended in a drug sting at the McKinley Parkway in Taguig, according to a report by GMA News.
PDEA Calabarzon director Archie Grande said Ortega allegedly yielded a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6 million.
“Ortega was reportedly delivering drugs for syndicates operating in Bilibid,” Grande said.
Ortega is being held at the PDEA detention cell on drug charges.
