4 drug suspects slain in Luzon
MANILA, Philippines – Four drug suspects were killed in alleged encounters with police officers in Cavite, Laguna and Pampanga over the past two days.
One of the suspects, identified as Jun Torres Figuoroa, alias Bisyo, was killed after he allegedly tried to resist arrest following a sting in Rosario, Cavite at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday.
Figuoroa was on the drug list of the municipal police, according to Cavite police director Senior Superintendent Arthur Bisnar.
Reports said the suspect yielded a .38 caliber revolver and a plastic sachet said to contain shabu.
On the same day, Frederick Fule and Ryan Ferdie Pulutan, 34, were killed after they allegedly exchanged fire with an undercover agent in Bay, Laguna.
Police Officer 1 Jeremias Ramos of Bay police station was wounded in the incident that occurred at around 1:30 a.m. in Barangay Dila.
Ramos was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound in the arm.
Meanwhile, in Pampanga, a certain alias Renan was killed by police officers in another sting in Barangay San Agustin, San Fernando City on Saturday.
The suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at the police officers after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover agent.
The lawmen retaliated, killing the suspect at the scene.
Investigators recovered a bag said to contain 12 sachets of shabu, P1,500 marked money, a loaded .38 caliber revolver and three bullet shells for a 9mm pistol from the suspect.
Police said Renan was a known drug supplier in the city.
