Nina victims to get Tesda scholarships
MANILA, Philippines - The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) will provide scholarships to residents of Southern Tagalog who were affected by Typhoon Nina.
Guiling Mamondiong, TESDA secretary-general, called on typhoon victims yesterday to visit district or provincial TESDA offices to avail themselves of the program.
Mamondiong said TESDA is also offering community-based training to affected residents to improve their skills.
Mamondiong is set to visit some of the affected provinces to determine the additional assistance TESDA can provide.
TESDA is coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to secure the list of typhoon victims.
