1 dead in Batangas road mishap

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A woman died while five others were injured in a vehicular accident in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on Saturday.

Agnes Binauhan was declared dead on arrival at the St. Cabrini Hospital after she and four others were run over by a cargo truck along the Maharlika Highway.

Taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries were Maricris Camodoc, Lenelyn Umali, Ana Marie Molinyawe, Sarah Lee Agnes and Judith Andio.

Police arrested truck driver Eduardo Ibañez after the incident that occurred in Barangay Sta. Anastacia at around 6 a.m.

Ibañez said the truck developed engine trouble, causing him to lose control of the wheel.
