2 hurt in South Cotabato blast

John Unson - The Philippine Star

SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines – Two persons were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Polomolok town here on Sunday night.

Muksim Adam and his 15-year-old son were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The victims were standing in front of their house when the explosion occurred.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a man in a dark shirt and denim pants looking at the victims’ house from a distance minutes before the explosion.

Local officials said the Adam family was at odds with another family over a piece of property.

Responding police officers said the IED, which was made of blasting powder and nails, was set off from a distance with the use of a phone.
