2 hurt in South Cotabato blast
SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines – Two persons were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Polomolok town here on Sunday night.
Muksim Adam and his 15-year-old son were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The victims were standing in front of their house when the explosion occurred.
Witnesses told investigators they saw a man in a dark shirt and denim pants looking at the victims’ house from a distance minutes before the explosion.
Local officials said the Adam family was at odds with another family over a piece of property.
Responding police officers said the IED, which was made of blasting powder and nails, was set off from a distance with the use of a phone.
