Rookie cop nabbed in Ifugao for killing lover's husband

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A rookie policeman was arrested over the weekend for the killing of his lover's husband, fearing he might be killed in the manhunt for the suspect.
PO1 Clifford Dulnuan claimed to have hidden in various areas to evade detection after gunning down lawyer Jemar Apada, 29, on December 1.
Apada, the chief of staff of Apayao Gov. Elias Bulut Jr., reportedly discovered the alleged affair of his wife with Dulnuan.
Apada's wife, Jenny, and Dulnuan are colleagues in the same police station and have been living together in Diadi town in Nueva Vizcaya.
Chief Inspector Alexander Cabang said that Dulnuan's father accompanied police to Kiangan, Ifugao where the suspect was hiding.
Cabang said Dulnuan's father pleaded his son to surrender to authorities.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Public Safety Company in Bayombong.
