100 motorbikes seized in Laguna

Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – More than 100 motorcycles have been seized by authorities in a series of anti-car theft operations in this province.

The campaign started on Thursday following complaints regarding motorcycle theft and crimes involving motorcycle-riding men, according to Highway Patrol Group-4A Superintendent Peter Dionisio.

The campaign started from San Pedro City to Sta. Rosa where 58 motorcycles were recovered.

On Friday, authorities recovered 50 more motorcycles from San Pedro City to Carmona in Cavite.

Dionisio said most of the riders violated the “no helmet, no travel” policy and lacked document such as official receipt, certificate of registration and driver’s license.

Owners were advised to present documents in claiming their motorcycles at the HPG-4A compound.

Dionisio said they would check with the Land Transportation Office and HPG field offices to determine if any of the motorcycles were used in a crime.
