Trade fair highlights farmers’ produce
URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines – Farmers’ produce are featured in a five-day trade fair that the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) launched here on Thursday.
Maria Ana Francisco of the provincial agrarian reform office said among the exhibitors are cooperatives that enjoy support from DAR through livelihood program.
Francisco said the fair is getting better on its third year.
She said during the first year of the activity, some products did not sell well because of poor packaging.
Francisco said organic products are among the best sellers.
She said the activity serves as a testing market for certain products and that it should be institutionalized to benefit more farmers.
Francisco said a similar activity would be held from Dec. 9 to 11 at the SM City in nearby Rosales town.
