PB okays P113.8M additional budget
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Board has approved the Capitol's Supplemental Budget (SB)-6 amounting to P113.8 million to pay for, among others, the incentives of the frontline workers in the barangays and the operations of hospitals and Cebu South Bus Terminal.
The appropriation ordinance was approved on first, second and third reading in last Monday's regular session.
The budget has been allotted for the general fund-proper at P91.95 million; development fund, P40,000; operations of hospitals, P17.7 million; and operation of CSBT, P4.12 million.
Of the P91.95 million, P41.9 million was set aside for the development assistance to cities, municipalities and barangays as a subsidy; P14.99 million for barangay tanods' incentive allowances under the province's peace and order program; and P8.8 million for assistance to barangay health workers, and other volunteers and frontline workers.
The remaining amount for the proper fund has been appropriated for the salaries of outsourced janitors, security personnel and other professional services, including overtime and night pay totaling to P18.4 million; and P3.9 million for the purchase of office equipment and renovation of the engineering's office.
The allocation for hospitals is intended for the purchase of drugs and medicines, medical dental and laboratory supplies, electricity and office supplies.
For the CSBT, on the other hand, the amount allotted is for the installation of solar power and other equipment.
The total amount has been sourced out from this year's savings from the personal services, maintenance and operating expenses and savings from the capital outlay in 2015 totaling to P91.95 million.
Also, from the realigned assistance/subsidy to local government units on investment projects this year amounting to P40,000; savings from personal services this year at P17.7 million and savings from 2012 and 2013 under the capital outlay worth P4.12 million. (FREEMAN)
