Mark Anthony Fernandez moved to Angeles City jail

MANILA, Philippines - Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez has been transferred to the Angeles City Jail on Saturday, according to reports.

Fernandez, 37, was arrested by the police Monday night for possession of marijuana at a checkpoint in Barangay Virgen delos Remedios in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The actor denied owning the kilo of dried marijuana leaves, claiming that it was planted by the police.

Fernandez was initially detained at the Angeles police’s Station 6 and was transferred after his camp argued that the jailhouse is too congested to accept additional inmates.

He tested positive for using marijuana but negative for shabu.

Fernandez admitted that he took marijuana since he was diagnosed with cancer in 2008.
