2 men slain in La Union

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines – Two motorcycle-riding men were killed in an alleged shootout with police after refusing to pull over at a checkpoint in Barangay Pangao-aoan East in Aringay, La Union yesterday.

Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado Jr., Aringay police chief, identified one of the slain men as Benjamin Lucena.

An investigation is underway.
