Power outage to hit Northern Luzon

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines – A power interruption will be experienced in parts of Northern Luzon, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) announced yesterday.

Lilibeth Gaydowen,?NGCP-Northern Luzon spokesperson, said a 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. power interruption would be experienced in Cagayan and parts of  Isabela, Apayao and Kalinga today.

Several towns and cities in Pangasinan will also experience a six to eight-hour power outage tomorrow. 

Melma Batario, NGCP’s regional corporate communications and public affairs officer, said the areas being serviced by the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative, Dagupan Electric Corp. and Pangasinan Electric Cooperative 3 would be affected by the power outage.

The power interruption is in preparation for the energization of a new power transformer at the Nagsaag substation as well as maintenance works along transmission lines serving the electric cooperatives.
