2 dead, 6 hurt in Cavite road mishap

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A woman and a three-year-old boy died while six others were injured when a truck hit a group of pedestrians in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Friday morning.

Luningning Cabarloc, 47, and Prince John Guardado were pinned under the truck and died at the scene.

Rushed to the hospital for treatment were Arnold Daguling, Arthur Daguling, Allan Estanol, Paul James Manalo, Rodelyn Rivera and Mitz Rivera.

Police said the truck developed engine trouble as it was traveling along the Molino-Paliparan Road in Barangay Paliparan.

Truck driver Manuel Cruz lost control of the wheel, causing the vehicle to hit a power post and the victims.

Cruz is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and multiple injuries.
