12 drug addicts, including minors caught in drug sessions

TUBA, Philippines - Twelve drug users, including five minors were caught having a drug session inside an abandoned building in Tuba, Benguet while three others were nabbed in a drug buy-bust inside a lodge in Baguio City.

Tuba police earlier arrested Froilan Ringor, 35, and a resident of Upper Tadiangan in Tuba town Wednesday evening though the suspect tried to escape by running inside a building, which resulted to the arrest of 11 others, including the five minors snorting shabu.

Arrested inside the alleged drug den were Michael Novesteras, 22, from Ilocos Sur; Rendel Rillera, 18, from Aurora Hill; Alex Delos Santos, 32, from Patucanay, Tayum, Abra; Nollie Quinto, 25, from Binmaley, Pangasinan; Denver Buting, 25, from Sagada, Mt. Province; and Mitchelle Zambrana, 29, from San Fabian, Pangasinan.

Confiscated from Ringor were four sachets of suspected shabu and P1,000 marked money, including one sachet of dried marijuana leaves and other drug paraphernalia.

Suspects are now facing drug cases while the minor suspects were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

In Baguio City, three alleged lady drug pushers were collared by authorities in a drug buy-bust along Malcolm Square also Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities arrested Sweady Lerio, 29, a resident of Bermuda Hills Subdivision; Josephine Pasion, 28, residing in Middle Quirino Hill, and Ellinor Concon residing at Camp Allen.

Confiscated from the suspects were four transparent plastic sachets containing shabu.

According to reports, the City Anti-illegal Drug Unit was about to conduct a buy-bust against Lerio but he received a tip that an illegal drug transaction is ongoing inside a lodge.

It was also learned Pasion and Concon were pregnant.

Police said the suspects are believed to prostitutes selling shabu to their clients.

Another two alleged pushers were nabbed on September 14, namely John Paul De Guzman, 33, from Nueva Ecija and his live-in partner Jam Marife Timbal, 39, and a native of Infanta, Quezon.

Seized from there were several sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and a cell phone.
