Lawmaker tagged in Ozamiz raid

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr.  yesterday tagged Misamis Occidental Rep. Henry Oaminal in the raids on a dozen  houses in the city on Sunday.

Parojinog also blamed Oaminal and a police official in the inclusion of his name on the drug list of President Duterte.

He clarified that his house was not among those raided for firearms and ammunition.

 A team composed of agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Special Action Force commandos searched 12 houses, whose occupants were believed to be keeping illegal firearms.

 Parojinog expressed belief the raid was politically motivated. He said several town mayors and barangay chairmen had endorsed him to run for governor in 2019 elections.

He said the endorsement could have been the reason why he was tagged as a protector of a major drug supplier.

Parojinog and Oaminal ran under the same political party during the 2016 elections.
