Village exec gunned down

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A village councilor was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding assailants in San Antonio, Quezon on Tuesday.

Tirzo Manguiat, 41, of Barangay Arawan, was driving a jeepney when he was shot in the village of Sampaguita at around 4 p.m., according to Quezon police director Senior Superintendent Antonio Yarra.

Police have yet to determine if the killing was politically motivated.
