4 drug suspects slain
MANILA, Philippines – Four drug suspects, including a village chief, were killed by the police in separate operations in Luzon in the past two days.
One of the fatalities was identified as Reynel Carpio, a village chief in San Nicolas town in Pangasinan.
Police said Carpio was on the drug list.
In Camarines Sur, Jesus Goronal allegedly pulled out a gun when he sensed that he was dealing with police officers in a sting in Buhi town.
Before the suspect can even fire his gun, the officers shot him, killing him instantly.
In Pampanga, two suspected drug traffickers were killed in separate operations in Angeles City.
Randolf Geraldia allegedly tried to resist arrest following a sting in Barangay Margot.
An alleged shootout followed and resulted in the suspect’s death.
Police recovered a .22 caliber revolver and a plastic sachet said to contain shabu from Geraldia.
Meanwhile, a certain Ranran allegedly took out a gun and fired at the pursuing police officers, who posed as buyer during a sting in Barangay Pampang.
The officers retaliated, killing the suspect at the scene.
Police recovered a 38. caliber revolver, three plastic sachets and marked money from the suspect. – Eva Visperas, Celso Amo, Francis Elevado, Ric Sapnu
