MANILA, Philippines – Three more drug suspects were killed in the continuous war against illegal drugs in Bulacan, Ilocos Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay on Monday.

One of the fatalities, identified only as Pogi or Dim, reportedly pulled out a gun when he sensed that he was dealing with police officers during a sting in Barangay Antipona, Bocaue, Bulacan.

The suspect allegedly fired at the officers, triggering a firefight that resulted in his death and arrest of his four companions.

Bulacan police director Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat said the sting led to the arrest of Beberly Blas, Marites Non, Don Don Casinillo and Bernard Non.

Police recovered from the crime scene 20 plastic sachets said to contain shabu, a .38-caliber revolver, marked money and drug paraphernalia.

In Ilocos Sur, motorcycle-riding assailants shot dead a 22-year-old drug suspect in San Vicente town.

John Maverick Yu was said to be number three on the drug list of the municipal police, according to Chief Inspector Greg Guerrero, spokesman for the provincial police.

Records showed Yu was one of several drug suspects who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang.

He was driving a motorcycle when he was shot in Barangay Bayubay Norte.

In Zamboanga Sibugay, drug surrenderee Cecelio Izon and his wife Emmie were on their way home when unidentified assailants shot him in Barangay Tiayon, Ipil town.

Emmie said she could not identify the assailants as their faces were covered with bonnets.

Izon was said to be on the drug list of the Ipil police.
