4 die in Sibugay gun attacks, hacking incident
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Four persons were killed in Zamboanga Sibugay on Sunday.
Superintendent Rogelio Alabata, Zamboanga peninsula police information chief, said Filizardo Lubaton, 47; his son Fregion, 11, and son-in-law Elmer Manalo, 23, were on the terrace of their home when they were attacked at around 6:40 a.m.
Lubaton suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. His son and son-in-law were seriously wounded in the attack.
In Malangas town, Zenaido Tormes, 53, and his wife Marcela, 46, were killed in a gun attack in Barangay San Vicente. The victims were watching television at their neighbor’s house when unidentified men opened fire.
Meanwhile, farmer Carmelo Peteros Hampac, 59, was killed in a hacking incident in Barangay La Furtuna, Payao town.
Alabata said Hampac was lying on a bench when a man identified as Joseph Francisco Madrid reportedly hacked him repeatedly.
Madrid surrendered.
