Mild quake jolts Eastern Visayas

MANILA, Philippines – A 2.6-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Eastern Visayas yesterday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 3:31 a.m. with its epicenter traced some eight kilometers northwest of Naval, Biliran.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Naval, Intensity 2 in Kawayan and Alemeria towns and Intensity 1 in Calubian, Leyte.
Phivolcs said it was not expecting aftershocks from the quake, which had a depth of 17 km.
