‘Hilarious’ governor to receive award for anti-drug drive

MANILA, Philippines – A list of government officials to be given citations for their campaign against illegal drugs became the butt of jokes on social media after the name of one of the governors was misspelled.

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III’s name was listed as “Hilarious” in the memorandum prepared by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The Professional Heckler said politician no. 8 on the list, referring to Davide, is “by far the funniest.”

The DILG list, which was signed by acting secretary Catalino Cuy, was sent to the Office of Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar, who distributed copies to the media.

Imee Marcos of Ilocos Norte, Faustino Dy of Isabela, Junie Cua of Quirino, Jose Alvarez of Palawan, Eduardo Firmalo of Romblon, Alfredo Marañon of Negros Island Region, Edgardo Chatto of Bohol, Daisy Avance Fuentes of South Cotabato and Ma. Angelica Rosedell Amante of Agusan del Norte are the other governors on the list.

Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno said President Duterte is exposing not only the bad, but also the good guys in government.
