Explosion rocks market in Zamboanga Sibugay town

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - - An explosion inside a public market rocked the town of Imelda in Zamboanga Sibugay province early Sunday morning, police said.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, director of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), said no one was reported hurt in the blast, which is believed to have been caused by an improvised bomb.
He said the explosion occurred about 5:40 a.m. in one of the stalls in the public market at Barangay Popblacion.
Beltran said the explosion damaged the store but also said no one was injured as the market is empty at night.
He said police are still trying to determine the type of explosive that was planted and the motive for the attack.
