The Philippine Star

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Some 31,000 marijuana plants worth P62 million were destroyed by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Mt. Chumanchil in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga the other day.

The marijuana plants were uprooted in a 45,000-square-meter plantation, said PDEA-Cordillera director Juvenal Azurin.

PDEA agents earlier burned 1,000 marijuana plants that were uprooted in Sitio Sapa, Barangay Tacadang in Kibunga, Benguet.

No one was arrested in both operations.
