Quakes shake Luzon, Visayas
MANILA, Philippines - Earthquakes rocked parts of Luzon and the Visayas yesterday but did not cause any damage, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
A magnitude-4.5 tremor occurred northwest of Caluya, Antique at 12:22 p.m.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Pandan, Antique and Malay, Aklan; Intensity 3 in Boracay in Aklan, Roxas City in Capiz, and Bulalacao and Magsaysay, both in Oriental Mindoro, and Intensity 2 in Culasi, Antique.
Earlier in the day, tremors of magnitudes 3.9 and 3.7 jolted parts of Negros and Leyte in the Visayas, respectively.
The epicenter of the magnitude-3.9 quake was located seven kilometers northeast of Leyte town, where it was felt at Intensity 3.
The magnitude-3.7 quake was located six kilometers northwest of Jimalalud, Negros Oriental.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Guihulngan City and La Libertad; Intensity 2 in Tayasan, all in Negros Oriental, and Intensity 1 in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
